Description

IVASS, represented by Elena Bellizzi, Head of the Consumer Protection Directorate, participated in the first meeting of the “Committee for the coordination and planning of initiatives on financial education”, which took place on 6 September.

The Committee, headed by Annamaria Lusardi, chair of the OECD International Network on Financial Education's Research Committee and professor at George Washington University, is made up of representatives from four Ministries (Economy and Finance, Education, University and Research, Economic Development, Labour and Social Security), from financial Authorities (apart from IVASS, Banca d’Italia, Consob and Covip), from the Body for supervision and keeping of the single register of financial advisers and the National Council of consumers and users.

The Committee, created with the objective of promoting and planning awareness initiatives and financial, insurance and social security education, will play a key role in drafting and implementing the national Strategy based on the integration and dissemination of a knowledge base.

IVASS considers the Committee’s activity extremely interesting, also in relation to the contribution it makes to the spread in Italy of a robust insurance culture that will help citizens to protect themselves from the risks that might affect their lives and wealth.
