Giovanna Lanzetta

Born in Palermo on 8 August 1971, she graduated with honours in Economics and Business from the University of Palermo in 1996. In 1997, she attended a specialisation course at the Sicilian Association of stockbrokers, obtaining the qualification of financial analyst.

She was hired by ISVAP in 1999 after an open competition and was assigned to the Division in charge of the Register of Agents and Brokers, dealing with the management of the professional registers of insurance and reinsurance intermediaries.

In 2006, she participated in the implementation of the new directive on insurance and reinsurance intermediaries and collaborated in the creation of a more efficient and simplified registration system, also assisting in the massive transfer of data of intermediaries registered in the professional registers to the new single electronic register (the so-called “RUI”).

In 2012 she worked with the head of the RUI Management Sector, at the Intermediaries Supervision Directorate, coordinating RUI-related activities and dealing with issues concerning the requirements of good repute and professional qualifications of the various categories of intermediaries. In the same year, she participated in the working group for the creation of the software for the computerised transition of intermediaries' data from paper-based registers to digital ones.

From 2013 to 2019, she was assigned to the Intermediaries Supervision Directorate - RUI Management Sector, where she gained further experience in the management and control of the register of insurance intermediaries.

Since 2015, she has been in charge of training initiatives for the staff of the RUI Management Division, contributing to the identification of the most effective tools to improve the internal organisation and to ensure a high standard of quality and uniformity of work processes.

From 2015 until 2018, she was coordinator of the intermediaries' helpline service and took care of the training and management of contact centre staff.

From 2017 to 2019, she was coordinator of the work area related to the management of intermediaries registered in sections A, B and D of the RUI. Delegated to sign, she was in charge of the external acts of the RUI Management Division, being appointed responsible for several administrative procedures relating to insurance intermediaries and their collaborators, including those relating to cross-border activities carried out in the EEA.

Following the reorganisation in September 2019, she was assigned to the Market Conduct Supervision Directorate- RUI Management Division, maintaining the tasks inherent to RUI management, also replacing the Head of the RUI Management Division.

She has participated in various working groups for the modernisation of the IT systems related to the RUI and for the regulation of insurance and reinsurance intermediaries.

As from 1 February 2022 she is Head of the RUI Management Division.
