Description

IVASS has received the title of "Best Practice" in the "Good Regulatory Practice" Contest, organized by the Jean Monnet Chair on Regulatory Quality at LUMSA University, in collaboration with the AIR Observatory and under the patronage of the Minister for Public Administration and the OECD.

The contest allows public administrations to share their "good practices," submitting them to the judgment of a committee of experts.

The goal of the contest is to disseminate practices rated as "good" by experts and facilitate their replicability in other administrations.

In this year's edition, "good practices" had to meet three criteria: innovation, results and replicability.

The award went to IVASS for its "discussion paper" on life product reform. The committee, recalling that to date there is a widespread "bad practice" of initiating consultations on documents that are already at an advanced stage of definition, rewarded the practice of the "discussion paper" because "it follows up on the indications for an early and preliminary consultation with respect to the regulatory process (if any), which have long been put forward by international and European organizations dealing with better regulation." In addition, the IVASS "good practice" "represents an important example for independent, governmental, central and local administrations, allowing them to acquire a valid information base and also curb the confirmation bias that could affect the administration."
