Antonio De Pascalis

Born in Martano (Lecce) on 17 May 1963, in 1987 he graduated with top marks in Economics and Business from the University of Bari.

He obtained post-graduate university specialisations (insurance, banking-financial, tax) and gained professional and teaching experience (chartered accountant, auditor, court expert in criminal and civil matters, teaching qualification in Legal and Economic subjects and Banking Technique).

In 1990 he was hired by ISVAP and assigned to supervise the technical, capital and financial aspects of insurance companies, with particular regard to investments.

He was involved in inspections of companies, control and off-site supervision, study and research activities on insurance, economics and finance.

In 1998 he was appointed Director of the Life and Non-Life Financial Statements Section of ISVAP; he then took on, in succession, responsibility for the Assets and Pension Funds Section and the Policyholders' Protection Section. With the establishment of IVASS, in June 2013, he was assigned responsibility for the Database and Anti-Fraud Division.

Since 1 January 2015, he has held the position of Head of the Research and Data Management Service.

From 1988 to 2014, he carried out academic activities mainly at the Universities "La Sapienza" (Rome) and "della Tuscia" (Viterbo), in economic, insurance and financial subjects, as well as numerous single-topic lectures at other Universities including LUISS and Bocconi. He has lectured on financial matters at the Guardia di Finanza School.

He has chaired public competition commissions.

He is a speaker at conferences and seminars, including international ones, and has published numerous articles and in-depth textbooks also adopted as part of university courses.
