Rosario Capasso

Born in Naples on 15 July 1978, in 2001 he graduated with top marks in Business Economics at the Luigi Bocconi Commercial University of Milan, specializing in economics of financial intermediaries.

As part of the Study Plan, he took part in the international "Exchange Program," thanks to which he attended the last semester of studies at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) in Buenos Aires and collaborated as a thesis student at the Banco Central de la Republica Argentina.

For about eight years he worked at a leading auditing firm, where he always dealt with insurance companies - most recently as a manager. In 2008 he obtained the title of Statutory Auditor and registration in the appropriate professional register (registration no. 157538).

In 2011, he won the competition based on qualifications and tests in ISVAP, where he was hired with the position of Manager.

In his first assignment, as the holder of Section No. 3 of Supervision I and reporting directly to the Head of the Service, he was responsible for on-site and off-site supervision of the Insurance Groups assigned to the section, also in cooperation with the European Supervisors within the Colleges of Supervisors.

As part of the Institute's reorganization in June 2013, he moved to the Inspection Directorate, where he was responsible for numerous inspections focused on the governance, management and control of technical, financial and solvency risks of insurance companies.

He was a contact person for numerous "inter-departmental" working groups in charge of preparing texts of secondary legislation on financial statements and calculation of the best estimate of technical provisions.

Since October 2022 he has been the Head of the Insurance Groups Division I of the Prudential Supervision Department of IVASS.
