Sergio Sabbatucci

Born in Rome on 22 February 1970, he graduated in Economics and Business from “La Sapienza” University of Rome in 1996. The following year he started his Ph.D.. In 1999 he was hired by ISVAP and was assigned to the Personal Insurance Department, where he carried out supervisory activities, including inspections, over insurance undertakings. In 2002 he obtained a Ph.D. in Banking and Finance - XIII cycle, with a dissertation on the application of financial stochastic models for the supervision over life assurance undertakings.

In 2003 he was assigned to the Research Department and took part in numerous working groups for the drafting of secondary sectoral regulations, with particular regard to financial regulations; In the same period he held various offices, also representing the Institute in international groups.
In 2010 was assigned to the Supervision Department II and in 2012 he became Manager. After the setting up of IVASS, since June 2013 he has become Head of one of the Divisions of the Prudential Supervision Department.

He has been granted professorships at various Italian Universities (Ancona, Pescara, Roma, Viterbo) and is the author and co-author of numerous studies and publications in the field of insurance.
