Alberto Corinti

Born in Viterbo on 2 November 1961.

Member of IVASS Board of Directors since 1 January 2013. His mandate has been renewed for a further period of six years, with presidential decree of 19 February 2019.

He represents IVASS in the EIOPA (European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority) and is also member of the EIOPA Managing Board and of the Quality Control Committeee. He is member of the IAIS (International Association of Insurance Supervisors) Executive Committee.

2011-2012: Head of the Brussels office of the financial services consulting firm Promontory Financial Group, where he coordinated its global activity in the insurance field.

2007-2011: Deputy Director General and Director of Economic and Finance of the European Federation of insurance undertakings (now InsuranceEurope).

2004-2007: Secretary General of the newly-established CEIOPS (now EIOPA), representing the European insurance supervisors in many bodies both in Europe (Insurance Committee, Financial Services Committee and Economic and Financial Committee) and at international level (International Association of Insurance Supervisors – IAIS).

1991-2004: at ISVAP, first as supervisor in the field of investments of insurance companies, then as Head of the Life Actuarial Section (1997-1999) and Head of the International Affairs Section (1999-2004).

After graduating in Economics and Commerce at the "La Sapienza" University of Rome (1982) and qualifying as a chartered accountant, he worked for eight years in a medium-sized Italian insurance company, dealing with accounting and balance sheets

He is a member of the Italian Association of Financial Analysts.

1999-2004: visiting professor of "Economics of insurance companies" at the University of Macerata; since 2012 he has been holding lectures on insurance in the "Management of Financial Institutions" course at the Bocconi University of Milan.
