As part of the activities of the "Insurance Protection Gap" Working Group at the Sustainable Finance Table of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, a seminar was held at IVASS on "Insurance Protection Gap - The Contribution of the Insurance Industry and Institutions to Make Households and Businesses More Resilient" .
The participants (ANIA, Bank of Italy, CDP, Cineas, Cittadinanzattiva, CNR, EY, ISPRA, MEF, MIMIT, Prometeia, Civil Protection at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Unipol), also based on the experience gained in other countries, agreed that the reduction of the catastrophe risk protection gap would benefit from the definition of national insurance schemes of private entities, which incentivise prevention and mitigation.
Participants expressed their willingness to contribute - on a technical basis - to the identification of possible solutions.
