Description

During today's meeting, the Governor and the Board of Directors of the Bank of Italy acknowledged the desire of the Senior Deputy Governor, Luigi Federico Signorini, to leave his post early.
At the same meeting, on the Governor's proposal, the Board of Directors decided to appoint Paolo Angelini, currently Deputy Governor, as Senior Deputy Governor, and Gian Luca Trequattrini, currently Managing Director and Secretary to the Directorate, as Deputy Governor.
Paolo Angelini, as Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Italy, will also take on the role of Chairman of IVASS, replacing Luigi Federico Signorini.
The appointments were adopted pursuant to Article 18 of the Statute of the Bank of Italy and will take effect upon approval by decree of the President of the Republic, promoted by the Prime Minister in agreement with the Minister of Economy and Finance, after consultation with the Council of Ministers.
