IVASS is member of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS)

Since 30 October 2020 IVASS has become a member of the “Network for Greening the Financial System” (NGFS), established in Paris in December 2017 at the initiative of the Bank of France and the Bank of the Netherlands.

The Network brings together central banks and supervisors interested in developing a sustainable finance and its goal is to define best practices, promote the definition of common methodologies for environment and climate risk management in the financial system and contribute to the promotion of “green finance”.

Sustainable Finance is bound to become more and more important and greater regard for the environment and the climate is key in guiding investors’ choices.

By joining the Network, IVASS will actively contribute to the workstreams on the analysis and assessment of risks relating to the stability of the financial system and markets as regards insurance issues.
The members of the NFGS are the major Central Banks, the supervisory Authorities - including the ECB, the Bank of Italy and seven other Central Banks of the Euro area - and international institutions such as the BIS, the World Bank, the OECD, the EBRD and the Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF).
