Actual Prices for Cat-Nat Policies
In this section, IVASS publishes information on insurance contracts covering risks associated with natural disasters (cat-nat).
In the Excel file “Data on Cat-Nat Policies”, a filter allows you to view premiums by province and value of insured property. For each reporting date, the Excel file “Detailed Data” provides tables and in-depth indicators.
The contracts in the survey include policies that vary in terms of characteristics (e.g., location) and the value of insured property, as well as contractual clauses, deductibles, excesses, exclusions, and the date of conclusion (before and after the entry into force of the legal requirement). This means that within the same province and insured value range, premiums can vary significantly.
A quote for a specific coverage must always be requested from the insurance companies or intermediaries operating in the cat-nat market. The list of entities active at the national level is provided in the “List of insurance companies offering cat-nat policies.”
The results of the survey will be published on a regular basis.
The “Methodological Note” contains useful clarification and information for interpreting the data.
