Maddalena Rabitti

Born in Modena on 12 October 1971.

Appointed member of the Board of Directors of IVASS at the meeting of the Council of Ministers on June 20, 2025.

She graduated with honours in Law from “La Sapienza” University of Rome (1994) and in 1999 she obtained a PhD in civil law from the University of Florence.

She was full professor of Private Law at the Parthenope University of Naples from 2005 to 2011.Since 2012, she has been a full professor of Economic Law at Roma Tre University, Department of Business Administration, and holds the courses:Banking and Insurance Law, Market Regulation and Consumers, and Market Regulation and New TechnologiesShe is a Cassation lawyer registered with the Rome Bar Association.

She was first alternate and then full member, appointed by the Bank of Italy, of the Banking and Financial Ombudsman (ABF), Rome Panel (2012-2018);commissioner of the Savers Compensation Fund (Fondo Indennizzo Risparmiatori - FIR) appointed by the MEF (2019-2023), member of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence - AGCOM (since 2024).

In her home university, she has taken on various institutional roles and has been a member and leader of research projects of national and international significance. She actively participates in conferences as a speaker and is the author of essays and articles on topics of economic and financial law, corporate governance and risk management, law of regulated sectors, new technologies, contract and civil liability. She is a member of the Board of Professors of the PhD program “Markets, Enterprises and Consumers,” University of Roma Tre, of which she was coordinator in the years 2012 -2018.

She is also a member of the Steering Committee of ADDE, Association of Business Law Professors, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Interdepartmental Research Centre of European Banking and Finance Law “Paolo Ferro-Luzzi” at the University of Roma Tre.

She participates in steering and scientific committees in journals specializing in civil, commercial and banking law (Rivista di diritto bancario, Persona e Mercato, Banca Borsa e Titoli di Credito).

Author of two monographs and about a hundred essays and articles published in leading specialized legal journals.
