Isabella Bozzano

Born in Rome on 25 March 1961, in 1984 she graduated with honours in Law from “La Sapienza” University of Rome.

In 1985, she was hired by IVASS (formerly ISVAP) and dealt with consumer protection, sanctions, insurance supervision and studies.

In 2004 she was promoted to Director and became head of the Damaged Parties Section at the Consumer Protection Directorate, dealing with the management of complaints, notifications of breaches, the organisation of the Claims Database and the Information Centre. From 2005 to 2010 she was assigned to the Prudential Supervision Directorates. As head of the Authorisations and Market Section, she was in charge of authorisation procedures for the exercise of insurance business, mergers, demergers, portfolio transfers, merger of segregate accounts and internal funds, life and non-life product analysis and the passporting of foreign companies to pursue business in Italy under the freedom to provide services and the freedom of establishment. From 2010 to 2015, following the reorganisation of the Supervisory Directorates, she was in charge of all supervisory aspects relating to the groups and companies assigned to her department (issuing of measures, authorisations and verification of individual and consolidated accounts).

Since February 2015 she has been Deputy Head of the Resource Management Directorate.

She has held numerous positions for IVASS (formerly ISVAP) both as Chair of the Examination Board for the qualifying examination for registration in the register of intermediaries, and as a member of the examining boards for internal selections for the career advancement of staff.

She has been responsible for the coordination of several working groups for the drafting of some regulations implementing the Private Insurance Code and for the launch of Solvency II reporting.

She is the author of articles and studies on insurance supervision.
