Marina Mieli

Born in Rome on 15 March 1960, she graduated with honours in Statistics and Actuarial Sciences from “La Sapienza” University of Rome in 1983.

She was one of the winners of the competition organised by ISVAP for the recruitment of management staff, which enabled her to be admitted to the course of cultural and professional preparation for the executive career, held at La Sapienza University of Rome - Faculty of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences. Following this course, she passed the final examination for employment at the Institute.

In 1985, she was hired by ISVAP with the rank of Officer and began her work in the 1st Inspection Section.

From 1989 to 1999, she was assigned to the Personal Insurance Department of the Institute, where she mainly dealt with actuarial issues. During these years, she took part in the work in Brussels on the 3rd EEC Life Directive and in the transposition of this directive into national legislation. She has also collaborated in the drafting of sector legislation on life insurance with particular reference to technical actuarial issues.

From 2003 to 2012, she carried out inspections of assets and technical-actuarial matters at three different Sections of the Institute. She has also taken part in some Colleges of Supervisors on cross-border groups and, in relation to the Solvency II Directive, she has supervised the work relating to the pre-application process for some of the main Italian and foreign insurance groups.

From 9 June 2013 to 31 December 2014 she was Alternate Head of the IVASS Studies and Data Management Directorate.

Since 1 January 2015 she has been Head of the Internal Audit Office.
