Roberto Novelli

Born in Rome on 13 August 1973. In 1997 he graduated with honours in Economics and Business at "La Sapienza" University of Rome; from 2000 to 2005 Subject Expert in Economics and Insurance Techniques.

In 2005 he obtained a PhD in Banking and Financial Management from “La Sapienza” University with a dissertation on the “Recognition and measurement of financial instruments: the fair value. Theoretical profiles, regulatory guidelines and impact on the banking and insurance sector”. In the 2005-2006 and 2008-2009 academic years, he was Course lecturer at the same University in Risk and Intermediation in bancassurance companies and Economics and Management of Insurance Undertakings.

In 1999 he won the competition for the executive career at ISVAP and was assigned to the non-life insurance Division. In 2003 he joined the Presidential Staff and in 2005 became Assistant to the President.

Manager since 2012, after the setting up of IVASS on 1 January 2013 he has been holding the post of Head of the Secretariat Office of the President and the Board of Directors.
